In order to provide training designed to meet our clients needs, the LMD Program contracts with education and training institutions and other service providers from across the province, to develop Métis specific special initiatives. These training projects seek to maximize our clients’ employment potential and ensure a smooth transition into the labour market.

Training projects may be:

• Provincial in scope where there is a high occupational demand and clients are recruited from across the province.
• Regional or local in scope where projects are designed to meet the particular needs of the Métis community in a given place. These projects are often driven by economic variations throughout Alberta.

A variety of projects, targeted for a specific Métis client group and location, are designed each year. All have their own eligibility criteria, and are scheduled to start at various times of the year.
