Métis Bursary Endowment

Are you a student attending a post secondary program, but don’t seem eligible for any of the LMD programs described above?

LMD staff are in the process of setting up endowment agreements with selected post secondary institutions in Alberta that agree to match the contributions made by the MNA LMD program to the Métis Education Foundation.

Agreements in place include:

Métis Scholar Awards at Grant MacEwan University
A $2 million endowment fund will provide awards ranging from $1500 to $2,000 for eligible students enrolled full time in a diploma or certificate program and from $3,000 to $4,000 for students enrolled in an undergraduate degree program. For more information and an application form:

Métis Education Foundation Métis Student Awards at NorQuest College
A $750,000 endowment fund will provide awards of $1,500 to $2,000 for eligible certificate/diploma students and $2,000 to $3,000 for university transfer students. For more information and an application form:

Métis Student Awards at the University of Alberta
Awards of $5,000 to $20,000 for eligible students enrolled in 2nd to 4th year undergraduate programs, and graduate programs.

Awards of $5,000 for undergraduate and applied degrees, $3,000 for dimplomas, and $2,000 for certificates.

Awards of $1,500 available to qualifying applicants to be dispersed in the second semester.
