The Alberta Aboriginal Youth Achievement Awards is an annual event celebrating the achievement of Aboriginal Youth across Alberta. Since 2003 the event, initiated and organized by the Labour Market Development program is designed to encourage and support excellence among youth.
The AAYAA is an annual gala celebrating the achievements of Aboriginal youth from around the province. Many of our winners, including outstanding university students and young professionals, have overcome tremendous personal and life challenges.
Your support will help these deserving young role-models make important contributions to the future well-being of our communities. Please join us at the upcoming awards ceremony:
7:30 p.m. Saturday, March 6, 2010 Shaw Conference Centre - Hall D Edmonton, Alberta
The general public is also invited to attend. Complimentary tickets are available at all Ticketmaster locations. Limit 6 per household.
All the nominations are reviewed by a selection committee and two youth in each category, with the exception of culture and heritage where a First Nations, Métis and Inuit youth, will be chosen for a total of 12 awards. The winners will be honoured at a gala awards ceremony featuring renowned aboriginal youth entertainment.
